A man in Florida was robbed of his shoes and wallet in a Walmart parking lot before fleeing, police said.
The store’s surveillance video shows the man, who has not been identified, enter the store wearing his own shoes, a black jacket and sunglasses, then walk out without any shoes or wallet, according to a statement from Walmart.
The man is described as a Hispanic man in his early 20s with a short, black beard, wearing a red baseball cap and black jeans.
He was carrying a white backpack.
Walmart issued a statement Monday saying, “Walmart’s goal is to make our associates feel safe and comfortable when they shop at the store, and we take this incident very seriously.”
It also said the suspect was not wearing a wristband or security system.
WalMart stores are among the nation’s largest retail chains, accounting for about 70 percent of U.S. sales.
